Listing Carousel

Webmasters who have a large number of listings are often puzzled over the question as to how they can be displayed evenly so that site visitors would see all of them. The best way to do this is with our carousel plugin that enables continuous rotation of ads in listing boxes thus, presenting a visitor with multiple listing choices.

How it works

The Listing Carousel Plugin offers a carousel effect that may be applied to all of the boxes created by default once your site is installed as well as to the additional boxes that you create with the use of the listing box plugin. The carousel effect turns static boxes into a rotating parade of listings.

Front End

When a user lands on your website, he will see various boxes with ads grouped in them. The boxes may contain 3 or 4 ads, but with the plugin installed, there may be 10 or more ads in them waiting their turn to be displayed. They rotate at a given interval allowing a user to see various ads without having to scroll or navigate to other pages.

Back End

In the back end, the administrator is presented with a range of settings for configuring the listing carousel plugin. Once you have selected the listing box, to which you wish to apply the carousel effect, you may further configure the plugin settings in the following ways:

  • Horizontal or vertical scrolling effect;
  • Choose the total number of listings in a box;
  • Set the number of listings per slide indicating how many listings will change per iteration;
  • Looped (infinite) scrolling – upon reaching the last listing, the slider resumes from the first one.

Keep in mind that you may apply custom configuration settings to each box on your website. For instance, for a box featuring “recently added” ads, you may wish to iterate ads in a box every 5 seconds and change all ads in a box per iteration whereas for a "featured" ads box, you may wish to increase the iteration interval to 20 seconds and change only one ad in a box per iteration. In other words, the listing carousel plugin provides you with a flexibility and allows you to tailor the carousel/slider effect individually to each box.

The listing carousel plugin is a must-have for classifieds sites with a large number of listings. It allows the Administrator to optimize the site space by displaying multiple listings in a rotating carousel.
